One of the cool new features of Flash Player 10 is the FileReference.save() method which allows the Flash Player to write to the local file system as long as the save request is requested by the user. This means that upon calling FileReference.save() the default file system dialog will open.

Flash Magazine is reporting that at the Flash on the Beach conference for the first time Paul Betlem publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone. He said (not direct quote) “My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.”

Not sure if this is new information to anyone but I stumbled across this little gem when I did a Google search for “get flash player” today.
I was surprised to see that the 2nd link was a Microsoft URL (go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=6457) which nicely redirects to the Adobe Flash Player download page.

It appears the Flash Player engineering team is making progress on 64-bit Linux support. There are no details yet on when this will ship. But I’m sure they could still use your help.

99% of internet users do have Flash Player on their machine (98,8% from Google study)
80% of internet users do have Flash Player version 9.0.115 on their machines

Wow, the Flash player is being downloaded at an unbelievable pace. Within 6 months the 9.0.115 player is already over 80% worldwide and over 83% in the U.S./Canada.
