This week is the Adobe MAX conference in San Francisco, and along with that we have a few special treats for you. First, the updated SWF and FLV specs are now available! I think this is the fastest we've gotten...
Getting Flash Player working on 64-bit Linux systems has been a challenge. But not anymore! Today Adobe Systems released a beta of native Flash Player 10 for 64bit Linux! Check it out and report bugs to the open Flash Player bug database. Here is a short video I shot of me [...]
Finally the CS4 trials are available. I really could have done with these last week whilst I was waiting for my delivery of CS4, why Adobe would postpone the trials I really don’t understand. CS4 Trials
Dominic Gelineau has just posted an inside scoop about the recent changes that Google has made to the way it has been indexing its SWF’s. This discovery was made through a series of experiments that Dominic has been doing to test Google’s abilities to index SWF content. Read the full story here. [...]

Flash Player 10 changed the security settings on the FileReference.browse() method. I remember reading about that, and yet I let an app slip through without being updated and guess what happened? Correct, when I expected the user to get the file dialog, the application just sat there. So, for those of you who have no idea [...]

Following my presentation at FOTB I’ve decided to set up and separate site and code repository for the effects work I’ve been doing with Flex. You can find a very preliminary site over at www.efflex.org. Currently there’s just a link to the repository, the presentation, and an example of the current effects. I’ll try and update it with [...]
One of the cool new features of Flash Player 10 is the FileReference.save() method which allows the Flash Player to write to the local file system as long as the save request is requested by the user. This means that upon calling FileReference.save() the default file system dialog will open. The FileReference.save() method has 2 [...]
Flash Magazine is reporting that at the Flash on the Beach conference for the first time Paul Betlem publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone. He said (not direct quote) “My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.” So will we [...]

It appears the Flash Player engineering team is making progress on 64-bit Linux support. There are no details yet on when this will ship. But I’m sure they could still use your help.
