Yes, I know, this is not a “real” 3D. Although it has no engine it does have the 3D look. And… it is so very easy and took me almost no time to make. This is my (fake) 3D column chart. Demo is here (right click for source) Source is here
I've just read it and reported. It seems that Symantec found a bug on the Adobe Flash Player ( include 9.0.124 .0and 9.0.115.0) and it says web sites hosting Adobe Flash Player content can be compromised by an exploit in the newest version of Flash. Embedded JavaScript can redirect users to a Chinese malware server
Recently I tried to set up a Java backend with Tomcat 6.0 to use with Flex. I have to say that I ran into a few problems that caused me a bit of a headache, so I thought I would share my solution to hopefully help anyone else who might have this problem. If you are looking to [...]
Someone put together an AS3Wrapper for Javascript, to enable you to code in AS3 syntax while writing javascript code. It claims to support the Full Flash API. That is probably the one thing that might interest me in writing any sort of javascript

Sometimes you just want to dump what ever in your mind to somewhere, someplace or some software. You can only move on when you know that you won’t loss what you had in mind. That’s why there are those brainstorm software such as the popular MindJet’s MingManager. Sometimes you just want to have something simple [...]

Masking hair is one of the harder challenges faced when you want to move a subject from one background to another. Here are two techniques for getting this done.
Vertabase Timer is a free utility to help you keep track of time spent on client projects. And the new version 1.5 is a Flex based AIR application (as described in this forum post).
So I have challenged the Adobe Consulting team with producing some technical guides around Cairngorm - short 2-4 page documents - that capture some of the approaches, techniques and ideas we have been implementing on projects worldwide, where we are building Rich Internet Applications with Cairngorm. So many of the common questions aren't necessarily best responded to with more code, more interfaces, more abstractions and more framework classes, but are really questions about strategy and tactics.  Working with modules.  Strategies for internationalisationand localisation.  Working alongisde Flash Media Server. Cairngorm alongside data management services in LCDS.  Implementing a best-practice secure login.  Creating...

At least someone has given a clear answer to the question about the redistribution license of AIR application in an enterprise setting from a centralized server. Oliver Goldman wrote a clear post talking about the AIR's enterprise support where he pointed out what you can do in AIR 1.0
A number of pretty big apps just made their way to Adobe Labs. These include Dreamweaver CS4 beta, Fireworks CS4 beta, and Soundbooth CS4 beta.Needless to say, I'm pretty psyched about Fireworks. Some of the new features are small but a great help to making my work flow a lot smoother. You never realized how much you needed smart guides until you've had them. The ability to save out and dynamically update styles is also awesome.I'm sure the other products are also as equally as exciting...
Man Adobe is just cranking em out. Labs has fresh new betas of some CS4 applications. The new Fireworks beta look especially nice for RIA UI design. Cool features, indeed. I will be checking out the Dreamweaver SVN integration this week, for sure. I have little faith in using Dreamweaver for my dev work, I [...]
Wednesday morning at 6:00 as the day begins… I’ll be on an airplane. That means I need to be at the airport some time around 4:00 am. That means I need to leave home around 3:00 am. That means I have to get up around 2:00 am. That means I’ll probably just stay up. I’ll be in Japan til June 9. [...]
Two weeks ago we launched a website that I am real proud of: Home Depot Think in Colour. It was the first RIA that I programmed (if you don't count my favicon editor) and man did I sweat doing it. First, it was way bigger than I first thought because applications have way more possibilities to [...]
Samuel Asher Rivello has posted his ActionScript 3 and MXML Coding Standards. If you're getting started with Flex, this may be of use to you.
Recently I haven’t been blogging at all. I’ve largely fallen off the face of the earth. Take a look at my sent emails from the past week and see if you can figure out why. I use colored labels in gmail to help easily categorize emails. The blue just means it was an email I received [...]
